SLAM MASTER CLASS WITH BLACK KALAGAN
Get inspired by Black Kalagan, prominent Caribbean Dominican slam poet and lyricist. He is known for his beautiful soft voice, his miltant lyrics and for releasing songs and albums on which he slams over music. He is sometimes refered as “the Caribbean Grand Corps Malade”. Black will share with you his vision of slam, his technic, and tips to create your own slam. Be prepared to feed your soul!
“My slam and music worlds are already very much inspired by the Universe of Edouard Glissant. So when Street Art for Mankind, a great non-profit who promotes art for social change, offered me to join the Tout-Monde Festival created by the French Embassy and France Florida Foundation, I was thrilled. The trio Urban Performance should be a true experience. To perform along such talented artists like Ronald and Stephon and to inspire the public to make our world a better one is something I cannot wait for. I truly believe that art can make a difference.” – Black Kalagan
Show curated by Street Art for Mankind and part of the Tout-Monde Teens program of the Tout-Monde festival, first Caribbean Contemporary Arts festival, launched by Cultural Services of the French Embassy in close partnership with the France Florida Foundation for the Arts on March 1- 4, 2018
