Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada is a Cuban-American Contemporary Artist, born in Cuba on February 5, 1966, and raised in the United States.
Technique: Jorge predominantly creates his work in urban spaces on a large scale. He was a founding member of the early ‘90s New York Culture Jamming movement working first with the group ‘Artfux’ and later with the ‘Cicada Corps of Artists’, during this period he launched interventions upon billboards and public advertising. By 1997 he was beginning to move towards working solo.
Exposure: In 2002 Jorge moved to Barcelona where he focused on the large-scale ephemeral charcoal drawings of his Identity Series, painting murals and then developed the Terrestrial Series; earthworks so expansive as to be visible from space which has allowed him to create artwork around the world. Other ongoing projects focus on the combination of technology and art. He takes part in numerous international shows and exhibitions and has received international attention in the media.
